Service Policies
AT Kawamura Kawamura International Co., Ltd. enshrines its commitment to its customers and quality in the first two points of the KI Philosophy:
- Through translation related services we will support the smooth operation of our customers’ business.
- We believe the quality of our translation service is of utmost importance and we undertake to continuously improve this and all related services.
The KI Idea of Quality
Error free, fit for purpose with expressions and tone appropriate for the customers needs, and a smooth process from placement of order to delivery. We believe these factors represent the kind of quality that the customer demands. At KI we dedicate ourselves to continuously improving these three elements that we call “Translation Quality”, “Preference Match”, and “Project Management (PM) Quality”.

Translation Quality:
Results that are free from the errors listed below represent the essential quality expected from a translation company:
・Mistranslations
・Omissions and expansions
・Typos
・Expression inconsistencies
・Incorrect grammar
・Incorrect use of terminology
|
Before completion, each and every document KI translates passes through our rigorous quality check. Mistranslations, omissions and expansions, and all other types of translation errors are checked for and kneaded out by the KI TAFT※1 quality control system (see illustration below).

Preference Match:
Endeavour to tune the translation to match the customers' taste and tone preferences.
The pursuit of ease of reading in English & Japanese.
| On the other hand, rewriting techniques are applied to expressions that could be influenced by the translators’ tastes in order to ensure they match the preferences of the customer. At present, we are developing a new technique (KI PAAT※2) to tackle the “Preference Match” quality control challenge. ※2 Preference - Analysis, Adaptation system for Translation |

Project Management Quality:
Fine tuning of the Quality, Cost, and Delivery (QCD) in order to meet the exact budget, deadline, software format, and translation environment needs of the customer.
|
Every customer has different needs in terms of budgets, deadlines and translation environment. In order to provide the highest quality service within these limitations, excellent project management is essential. A high level of importance is placed on information gathering, work planning and the other processes shown below, and we are dedicated to the continuous improvement of each (KI PmP※3).
